Mother-of-pearl is the interior coating, with iridescent reflections, of certain mollusk shells. It is widely used in marquetry, jewelry and in the manufacture of buttons. Mother-of-pearl is said to have other virtues and benefits, acting in symbiosis on the body and mind. Thus, mother-of-pearl would promote bone regeneration and the circulation of fluids in the body.
